FileFormatConverters.EXE

Dale

I have downloaded the file FileFormatConverters.EXE and tried to install it
on a couple of different machines. When you double click on the install, it
starts off and then nothing happens.

I thought it might be a machine issue, with permissions etc. so I wiped the
machine and installed from scratch. Same problem. Logged on as local
administrator.

Anybody else run across this problem?

Thanks,
Dale

Do you mean you FORMATTED the HDD and re-installed EVERYTHING from scratch
because the install of the converter file didn't "seem" to work?

Jeeeeeze!

Have you looked at any of the event logs to see if there is useful
information there? Perhaps something there would provide a clue on what's
going on.

If the OS is Vista, you can try right-clicking on the executable and
choosing "Run as Administrator". If it's XP, then never mind. Have you
downloaded the file again? Maybe your file is corrupted (especially if you
have the same results on a freshly installed OS).

I reinstalled the OS because I believe our current image is corrupt from
Ghost. So you have to reinstall to create a new image. In the process I
noticed that the converter pack did not install. I also re-downloaded that.
However, yesterday, I noticed a small little line under in the converter pack
documents that all software must be on the most recent Updates for BOTH XPSP2
and Office. So, I'm searching through to make sure all updates are applied,
then going to retry the fileformatconveters.

This issue is now solved...I re-downloaded the fileformatconverters.exe and
it worked with no problems.

So, either the first few downloads got corrupted or the file itself was
corrupt.

Thanks for the help,
