Filenames appear blue in Windows Explorer

Suddenly the filenames appear in blue (rather than black) in Windows Explorer
(Office 2003). What's going on?

My apologies, if this isn't the right forum, but I couldn't find one devoted
to Windows Explorer.

Thanks.

Those files may have been compressed or encrypted. In Windows Explorer:
1. Select the file that appears blue in color.
2. Select "File" | "Properties" menu item.
3. In the "General" tab, click "Advanced..." button.
4. See the "Compress contents to save disk space" and "Encrypt contents to
secure data" boxes.

The compressed or encrypted files are shown in different color based on a
setting in Windows. In Windows Explorer:
1. Select "Tools" | "Folder Options..." menu item.
2. Select "View" tab.
3. In the Advanced settings list, locate the "Show encrypted or compressed
NTFS files in color" box.
This setting shows you whether you asked Windows Explorer to display such
files in different color.

If Chirag's answer doesn't do it for you, here's a link to the Windows XP
General Questions newsgroup.

There's a pane on the left with an alpha list of MS newsgroups. If you're
not using Windows XP, then you'll want to post to the appropriate group for
your version of Windows.
