"Files Tool" vs. "File Sharing Workspace"

I've been trying to find any description of the functional differences (in
Groove 2007) between:

(A) Setting up a 'Standard Workspace' containing the "Files" Tool to manage
my File Sharing
--and --
(B) Setting up a "File Sharing Workspace" to manage my peer-to-peer file
synchronizing.

It seems that in a "File Sharing Workspace", Groove synchronizes a folder
which is recognized as a folder by explorer (etc.), whereas in the "Files
Tool" within a Groove Workspace the folder does not exist outside of Groove
(unless it's in a TEMP folder or Groove's application data or something else
I haven't bothered to look for...)

What about the conventions of "save as..." file naming-- What are Groove's
rules for naming a modified copy in the two different setups? Can a file be
saved directly from an application into the location of the "Files Tool", or
must save it elsewhere and then copy it to the Files Tools folder tree?

The diffence between the Standard Workspace and A file sharing workspace is
that from a File Sharing Workspace you can directly connect Groove to a
folder on your local machine. And sync that data with other workspace
members.
The Standard Workspace tool encypts your data in the
c:\users\%username%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office\Groove folder.

Be aware that in some company's who have an managed Groove enviroment the
File Sharing tool is disabled and you cannot communicatie via the File
Sharing tool.
Also on x64 XP and Vista the File Sharing tool does not work.
