Files will not go off Stationery Pad

Cheryl

The problem we are having is that the stationery enable box will not
stay unclicked if we want to make changes to that document. For
example, if we need to edit our letterhead that normally comes up as an
untitled document since we have stationery pad enabled, if I unclick
the stationery pad box, it unclicks, but it still comes up as an
untitled document.

If I create a brand new document, save it to the server, and put it on
stationery pad, it comes up untitled as it should. I can take it off
stationery pad, make changes and put it back on stationery pad. If
another user on another desktop wants to make changes, they unclick the
stationery pad box, but when they open it, it comes up untitled and in
checking get info, the stationery pad is selected.

Server is set it up as follows:

Share Points and All tabs:

General tab: box to share this item and its contents is clicked

Access tab: owner, group and everyone have read/write privileges

If select dial at bottom to propagate permissions access control list
is selected

Protocol tab: the use standard POSIX behavior is selected.

It seems like a permission issue, but everyone has read/write
permission.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Hi Cheryl,

Sorry no one has responded to you sooner but I think we're all stumped by
this, including me. Unfortunately, I'm a single user so I have no way of
trying to reproduce what you have described. Perhaps if someone else out
there is on a network they could test this out? It would be helpful to know
if the problem is with your particular setup or with stationery pad.

A question or two: Does the same thing happen (re: your second paragraph)
regardless of who is creating the new document? IOW, if a different user
not you creates the new document, do you see the same result? If this
occurs on all machines, then I would guess that it's a setup/permissions
issue but you already knew that :) and I don't have a clue what it could
be. (You've tried repairing permissions I assume?)

Sorry not to be of any help.
