fill and line colors missing

Problem: Although fill and line colors are already
chosen, when we create a rectangle, circle, or autoshape
of any kind it is invisible until we click on the fill and
line colors again. Any idea how to change preferences so
that we don't have the invisibility problem?

Create a rectangle with the desired fill and line color, right-click it,
select "Format ...", then on the "Colors and Lines" TAB click the "Default
for new objects" checkbox.
