Fill Color Option Not Available

Alice

I have a Word document with a table embedded. I have cells shaded in various
colors. I am trying to change cell colors and the fill color option is
greyed out and not available.

Fill Color applies to drawing objects, not table cells. What you want is
shading. How you access this depends on your version of Word, which you
haven't stated.

The filler color option is used for objects created in word such as text
boxes and shapes. In order to change the table design you need to go to the
"Table Tool - Design" Tab and find the "Shading" color icon that will also
look like a Paint Bucket(that will change the color of your cells).
