'fill effects' wont print

My son put together a 'simple' (4 individual pictures) title page for a
school project. I think he using Word 2002. On this page he chose to do a
"Fill Effect" with a two colour (yellow and white) gradient shading. However
neither our Dell or Canon printer prints the yellow fill colour....just the
4 foreground pictures. Any suggestions?

In Word 2002, if the gradient shading was inserted by clicking on Format
| Background | Fill Effects | Gradient, then won't print. Instead:
1. draw a rectangle,
2. right-click on the rectangle, and left-click on Format AutoShape |
Colors and Lines | Lines: None | Fill: Color: Fill Effects: Gradient |
Layout | Behind Text | OK,
3. resize the rectangle to fill the page, and
4. right-click on the rectangle, and left-click on Order | Send to Back.

Your printer probably can't print all the way to the edge of the page,
so there will be some amount of blank area along the edges of the
printed page.
