Fill Gradients

Sandles

In Pub2000 I can create a fill gradient that is like a wave but this does not
appear to be available in Pub2003. Does it exist adn if so where do I look

I've tried to find a gradient you said looks like a wave. Nothing looked
like a wave to me. Can you send a Pub 2000 with that gradient to me and I'll
see if I can find it? Were you able to find the gradients in Pub 2003? There
are much nice options in the newer version but if you know what you want,
you KNOW what you want.

If you want to send a file to me, send it to jl dot paules at gmail dot com.

Hey JoAnn,
Publisher 2003 doesn't have the gradients 2000 had, you could do stars, spirals and
all sort of shapes. You couldn't print them with ease with a laser, it would take
forever... I've tried copy/paste to 2003 but the gradient doesn't stay the same
shape.

Good thing to know. The docs I created with 2000 are a "done deal" so I
wouldn't have seen the problem.

Convert to a pictuer and paste as a picture?

Won't work... Tried pasting every which way, the gradient breaks up into interesting
looking images... Publisher 2000 doesn't save as a picture.

I just tested. I had no problems using copy/paste. In Pub 2000 go to Edit >
Copy, then Edit Paste Special and you can paste in Publisher 2000 as a
picture.

Or

In Publisher 2000, go to Edit > Copy, then in Publisher 2003 go to Edit >
Paste Special > Picture and that works fine too.

Brian, I see what you are saying, copy and paste back into 2000 and then paste into
2003. That works with some of the gradient styles. Try it with the spiral...

How do I create a gradient so that it will properly display as PDF. The one I
created prints OK to PCL printer, but shows as solid (non-gradient) box in
PDF.

C

Coronado

Yes, I tried on Acrobat + others with same result. I am using Pub2003. Any
special settings or tricks when preparing the object with the gradient?

M

Mary Sauer

No special settings that I know of, however, I did try another gradient with
some transparency, I did not achieve transparency in Acrobat.

C

Coronado

I think that you are right, its not the gradient that is in error, but rather
the transparency. Any thoughts?

Export the pages with gradiented transparency as high-resolution PNG or
TIFF images and print those.

Does anyone know how in powerpoint 2007 to make gradients dark at both ends
of the chart and lighter in the middle.
