Fill patterns and footers

Is there a way to make the text in a footer show through a fill pattern box?
I have a large text box that has a fill pattern that covers most of the page.
I am using it as a page background. I have ordered it so that it is behind
the text. The page number in the footer shows through the fill pattern on my
screen, but when it prints the pager number is behind the fill pattern and
does not show.

Hi Fin,

If you've set the autoshape to 'Behind Text' the page number
should show through, depending on your font color setting.

If you're using a postscript printer you may want to change
the option for Print Postscript over text in Tools=>Options=>Print
or your softfont settings in the printer properties.

You didn't mention the version of Word you're using, but assuming
you've placed the textbox/autoshape under View=>Header=>Footer
for your background you might also want to consider putting the
page number in the textbox.
