Hi, Ben.
Does anybody know why I get valuees of 'is null' and 'is not null' as my
filter criteria in filter by form mode when the data comes from linked
tables?
This is the default for linked tables. Local tables will show the items on
the list, unless they exceed the number set in the "Don't display when . . ."
option, or the option is turned off for local tables.
I increased the number in the 'don't display when...' field under
tools-options but I am still getting this result.
In addition to this step, open the form in Design View and select a text box
that is bound to a field in the linked table, then open the Properties dialog
window. Select the "Data" tab and then select the Filter Lookup Property and
change "Database Default" to "Always."
Do this for any other text box that needs a list shown instead of "NULL" and
"Is Not NULL" in the combo box when Filter-by-form is being used. When
finished, close the Properties dialog window and save the form.
Open the form in Form View. Select the "Filter-by-form" button on the
built-in toolbar and then select one of the text boxes that you changed.
You'll see the entire list, not just the "NULL" and "Is Not NULL" in the
combo box.
HTH.
Gunny
