filter by form

I do an AutoForm with a table "ABC". It shows me all the fields in the
form. I click FilterByForm and it brings up a neat screen that lets me
fill in my filtering criteria. There is a drop down arrow for all
fields, BUT on some fields there is a list of all values in that field
(e.g. phone numbers) BUT I can't find how I have defined those fields
differently!!! I have looked at indexes but that doesn't seem to be it.
