Filter - Critical

Hi,
I would like to be able to do the following in PWA.
In Project Professional 2003, Open a project, Expand all sub tasks and
filter by Critical(Goto Project--> Filtered for - Critical). This shows a set
of Tasks. I'd like to see this in PWA for say a selected 30 projects. Is that
possible..without going to Professional ?

Thanks

In Project Server 2003, this is not possible with using Project Professional
2003 and opening all projects into a temporary master project. You cannot
do this in PWA. Hope this helps.

Thanks Dale. So is it possible with PS 2007 ? As u said currently we are just
opening all projects in a Master Project and doing the filter thing. But we
don't want to do that anymore...we want to get rid of the Master file and be
able to do it on the Web. We are already in the process of moving to 2007.
What other options have I got..? Is it possible programmatically ? I tried
looking for all tasks whose critical field is set to 1..but it doesn't give
me exactly the same tasks as it does in Project Pro...so I am kinda
confused..I dont exactly know how this works.. :(

Any explanation or ideas welcome!

Thanks

You are no better with Project Server 2007 on this issue, as you would still
need to open all 30 projects in a master project. A better approach, in my
opinion, would be to extract this data out of the Reporting database using
SQL Reporting Services of Crystal Reports. Hope this helps.

If you move to Project Server 2007, one other way to extract the data from
the system is to create a Data Analysis view using the Tasks Nont Timephased
OLAP cube and to filter on the "Task Is Critical" dimension. Just one
additional thought. Hope this helps.

Dale,

Thanks very much for your thoughts. I'll think about both the approaches and
see how they work. It was very helpful!
