Filter for non address book senders

How can i create a filter for those NOT in my address book. I want to
send those email straight to trash.

does not really do the job as it expects you to add each spammer to
list.

i think i have it set up now but why it's not as easy as OE i don't know

You must not have read the page in full. All you have to do is create a rule with no conditions, then use an exception "except if sender is in specified Address Book."
