Filter to show all tasks linked to a given task.

Has anyone developed a filter to do this? MSP does this to check for the
circular link error, but does not provide access to this as a filter. I have
done it for selected tasks by inserting a deadline that turns all linked
predecessors critical and applying that filter, but a custom filter would be
much more useful.

Sorry folks. Found the discussion by JulieS, 9/23/05, that identified the
Jack Dahlgren macro that does this. Second time this year Jack has solved my
problem. Thanks Jack and Julie.

Hi PWHill,

You may also find the Task Drivers feature in Project 2007 helpful.
The Task Form showing in the lower pane can also be formatted to
show Predecessor and Successors.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Julie,
I tried that, but it only showed the immediate predecessor, not all
preceding tasks in the branch. I also found nothing in the Help system to
reconfigure the pane to show additional predecessors or successors. What did
I miss?

You didn't miss anything. The Task drivers feature show
predecessors and you can "walk" your way backwards through a file by
clicking on the predecessor listed in the pane. You're correct the
task form only shows immediate predecessor/successors. Jack's trace
macro is even better :)
