Filtering a sub form

How can I refer to the "Filter" property of a sub form from the parent form?

me.subformcontrolname.form.filter

keep in mind that subformcontrolname is the container for
the subform -- where you specify SourceObject, Heught,
Width, LinkMasterFields, LinkChildFields, etc

subformcontrolname.form is the actual form
