Filtering charts

I have a form that contains a chart. I need to filter the
data in the chart based on an input field on the form.
I've looked through the properties, but can not find a
filter option for the chart. Current the data source for
the chart is set to pull all records from the table and
display them on the chart.
Any ideas / tips
