Filtering values in drop down

Infopath 2007/web enabled form.
I have a large amount of items in drop down and users have troubles with
finding their choices. Pressing first letter of expected item makes
dropdown to go to first item beginning with this letter but this is not
enaugh to effective item search. I need wildcard search. Is it possible
to achieve it by rules or I need code behind. We are talking about Web
browsed forms.
Another thing - in my dropdown i have values from sharepoint list - I
assume these values are in order of creation on the list, how to sort
them in dropdown to make it easier to choose. I don't think sharepoint
list connection has this option.
