Find and replace feature in MS Office Professional 7

Dr. Bob

I just noticed that when I try to use the find and replace function that it
completely freezes the document. I have to exit the program and then get back
in. Needless to say, I like this feature a LOT and it is a pain when it isn't
functioning. How do I reset it? Do I need to uninstall Word out of the Office
Suite and reinstall? Please help!

Hi Dr. Bob,

Have you tried repairing your Office installation - see Help|Detect & Repair (or Word Options|Advanced|Run MS Office Diagnostics in
Word 2007)?

Also make sure that you have it patched up to date as this was the symptom
of an early Word 2007 Search bug.

Hi

I've gone to Control Panel then to programs and done the repair Word from
there with no results. I will try your suggestion. Thanks! It was working
well just last week. I'm wondering if in doing a different document that
somehow I inadvertentyl changed the template. Would that make a differce? If
so, how can I repair it?

Don't you just hate questions that lead to more questiions???

Thanks for taking your time to help!!

Hi Dr. Bob,

Assuming 'MS Office Professional 7' is a reference to MS Office Professional 2007, have you installed the Office 2007 SP1 update?
