Find and Replace problem

When trying to use Find and Replace, the actual document
disappears to the background, leaving only the Word
program in the foreground with the Find and Replace box on
top. You can not see the document you are trying to
search, but the search is actually occuring and I assume
ti is finding the text string in the FInd and Replace box
because it will highlight the "Find Next" button on the
Find and Replace box. ANy help would be greatly
appreciated. Max

Beth,
Thank you for the info. The article had the correct fix
for me. I also have an ATI video card and I shutdown the
desk95.exe process in task manager and the Find and
Replace works fine now.

Beth,
I have a bit more explanation for you. The desk95.exe
program is actually the program from ATI for the
Hydravision Desktop Manager. You can right-click on the
ATI icon in the icon tray and got to the top
selection, "Hydravision", and "Unload Hydravision" to stop
the desk95.exe from running. Or, kill it in taskmanager.
