Find recently deleted contacts

While holding the control key and selecting a bunch of contacts, I accidently
deleted them. How do I retrieve them? The "undo" button is visible but not
active.

Look in your Deleted Items folder.

The deleted items folder is only showing me the e-mail messages I've deleted.

Then maybe you've emptied it since you deleted the contacts. Or you deleted
the contacts with Shift+Del.
