Find/Replace Box Gets Wider

Every time I open the Find/Replace box it gets wider. Sometimes to the
point where it goes beyond the screen. Once in a while I can resize it
to a smaller size but most of the time it won't let me do this. Anyone
have a similar problem? I tried Google but I don't think I know exactly
what I'm looking for.

Any help would be appreciated.

That is interesting, because it will let you make it larger, but not smaller.
Anyway, the cure is to find and delete the file named CmdUI.Prf
located here: %UserProfile%\Application Data\Microsoft\FrontPage\State

Or download a utility named FPCleaner from here:
http://www.95isalive.com/fixes/fpclean.htm

and use the "Restore Default Toolbars and Menus" function

I tried both suggestions but they didn't do the trick.

Which FrontPage version??

I can duplicate it in FrontPage 2002, and deleting the CmdUI.prf file doesn't make it go
back to normal size.
Neither does deleting the StreamMRU and Stream data, and the entries from UserAssist in
the registry and rebooting.

This is a strange one.

I'm using FrontPage 2002 (10.6308.6714) SP3

It just let me resize it back to a smaller size again earlier today but
now I can't again. I'm baffled.

Baffled here also.
I have 2 machines running windows 2K Pro and both FP 2002 and 2003.
I can duplicate it in one machine where it won't go back to the original size.
the other machine I can drag it back and forth at will.

On the machine where it won't go back to the original size, it seems to be permanently "stuck."

I have sent a report about this "up the line."

Found a Fix:

Close FrontPage.

Run regedit and go here:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\FrontPage\Explorer\FrontPage Explorer\Settings

Right click the value name FRDlgPos then select modify and then clear the Value data.
Click OK, close regedit and reopen FrontPage.
