I have a an ongoing problem with the find button and the filter button.
My database has 14,000 records, In the company field theres listed different
division or sites for the same parent company. For example:
IBM - New York,
IBM - Electronic Parts
Canada - IBM
Headquarters - IBM
The users use the find button a lot. For example if looking for info on IBM,
they will user the find button, and then ask for all records where IBM is in
the field. When the first record with IBM, they click filter so that their
only looking at specific IBM records.
The problem is that if IBM is at the start of the record[Example IBM - New
York] , the filter will only give records that START with IBM.
However, if IBM is in the middle of the record [Example Canada -IBM], then
the filter will give all records where IBM is in the field.
This drives the sales people nut, which drives my boss nuts, who drives me
nuts.
Any suggestions?
