First letter of sentence does not auto cap in numbered list

In auto correct, I have the box checked to capatalize the first letter of
each sentence. It will not auto correct the first letter to a CAPITAL after,
for example "1. install new..." while using the auto numbered list format.

It worked fine on my old Office 97 but does not work on 2003.

This is a bug in Word 2000 and above for which there is,
unfortunately, no workaround. Apparently some users
complained about Word automatically capitalizing the first
word of numbered list items (which are the first word
of a paragraph and therefore, Word assumes, the first word
of a sentence), and the "fix" broke the feature for *all*
situations where a word follows a number and a period.

Yep. My typical post is to remind users that there are two Shift keys on
every keyboard. <g> I must say, though, that in a recent project to type a
256-page MS in a week, I was very grateful for all the AutoCorrect I could
get!
