First line in address is always indented by one character

When ever I do a mail merge, the first line of the address
is always indented by one character space.

ie:
John Brown
15 Main St.
Anytown, USA 12345

Please help.
Thanks,
Jeff

Hi Jeff,

Which version of Word are we dealing with?

What's the data source (what application)?

Are you absolutely certain there's no space before this first
merge field? And there are no spaces in the data? Might you
have another merge field before "First name" that contains no
data, and what you're seeing is the space between the two
merge fields?

is always indented by one character space.

John Brown

You hit it on the nose. I had the full name of the person
in the Last Name field. I was seeing the space between the
First name field and the Last name field. Thanks a lot,
I've been going crazy trying to figure this out. I am
using Word 2003 and my data source is a .CSV file.

In Word 2003, the match fields box, the Last name field is
first then the First name field. Confusing!
