In a subform, in datasheet view, is there a way to make the first line the

You can simulate this though by placing a single line form just above the
datasheet and then use this to add new records.

I do not know what procedure you are using to add a new record but add event
to requery and have it sort ascending on a field that always contains data
when record is complete. A new record will have a null and will sort at the
top.

If the newly created record contains an autonumber ID, you can make it
appear 'first' by sorting the recordsource for the subform on the ID DESC.
That will put the highest number first.

But will that make the "New Record" line be at the top of the datasheet or
will it still be at the bottom until I create the new record? I just don't
want them to have to scroll down through a bunch of lines to get to the new
record line.

right arrowhead with asterisk.
