First OL2002 and now OL2003 chokes

I had been using OL2002 as part of Office XP.

I could download my mail and I'd get one click before OL would simply stop
responding.
Task manager would say that "Program Not Responding"

I tried scanpst

I closed the old PST and opened a new one. Same thing. One click and it
would freeze.

Last night I un-installed Office XP. Even deleted the Office10 directory.

Then installed Office2003.

Now I can read the mail headers but no text. AND then it freezes.

I'm becoming really frustrated by this. No error!! It just stops
responding.

I've never seen something like this before and it all started about 4 weeks
ago.
I don't belive the system was infiltrated, AV software & definitions are
current.
The Firewall is also kept strong.

Any one got any ideas?

Thanks in advance.
Joe
