Fix error 1603 on reinstallation?

I am having trouble reinstalling Office 2003. I keep getting unsuccessful
installation. The setup_Task(XXXX).txt file and setup(xxxx).txt file suggest
error 1603. This is a general error according to microsoft. How do I fix
this?
