Office Accounting 2008 Installation Errors

T

Tom Bean

I am trying to install Office Accounting 2008 on a Vista system which had
Office Accounting 2007 installed. I tired doing an upgrade and that failed
so I removed Office Accounting 2007 and tried a new installation of Office
Accounting 2008.

All the installation attempts have failed with the following errors reported
in the .log files: "Internal Error 2337" and "Installation success or error
status: 1603".

I have tried removing Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express and Microsoft Office
Small Business Connectivity Components but it doesn't matter. The
installation still fails with the 2337 error and a status of 1603.

What am I doing wrong and how can I resolve the problem and get Office
Accounting 2008 installed?

Thanks,
Tom

Hi Tom,

I'm assuming you're installing as administrator and have a lot of free space on the Windows drive. You may want to also check with
the folks in the Office Accounting newsgroup through the link below.

Bob:
I am trying to reinstall Office Accounting 2007 on a replacement WinXP Pro
machine and get errors that SQL Express fails to install. I have uninstalled
the components that get installed before installation fails, entries in the
registry and the folder in program files. Each time the same error results.
Any other tricks to get this reinstalled?
Thanks
Scott
