Fix Task ID numbers-?possibility

Over a period of time, I'm adding new tasks (e.g. ad-hoc meetings) into my
project schedule which of course changes the existing task id numbers -
because they get 'bumped-down'.

Is there any way of 'fixing' the task id numbers so that they remain the
same indefinitely once a task has been created? I refer to the task id
numbers in periodic reports I produce and these are out of sync.

This is not a show-stopper, but more of a curiosity of mine.

Hi,

There is also a field called Unique ID (insert, column..) that does that.
