Fixed column widths

Is there a way to format a table so that the column widths are a set length
(different for each column). I have set the table to not autofit, but when I
change the width of one column, it affects the width of other columns.

There are several ways to change columns widths, some of which don't affect

(not yet updated for Word 2007, but the principles are the same).

Perfect. I was able to modify the table -> autofit -> fixed column width
then modify the columns to get what I needed. Thanks!!
