Fixed duration activities

I set an activity to last a fixed amount of days.
I assigned one resource to this activity at 1%.

The resource updates the worked hours per day.

Then when I save again the mpp the % of resource usage is increased.
I'd like to get that fixed, but being possible for the resource to insert
more hours than expected in some days.

Is there a way to do this?

The Units value of 1% that you set on the resource assigment is your initial
or "estimated" Units value. As a resource begins to enter actuals into
their timesheet, the Units value actually corresponds to another field
called "Peak Units." Peak Units is the largest amount of Units that a
resource worked during a single time period. So, for example, if you assign
me to the task at 1% Units and I enter 2 hours of work on Monday of last
week, then the Units value for my assignment will now show 25% Units. This
is not a problem, as this is how the software is programmed to work, and
there is no way to make the system work so that it doesn't do that. Hope

I would suggest that you make them "fixed work" tasks. You can adjust
the duration. If a resource does more work than expected the duration
will change (the job will be done sooner!!) Here are the task types
and what happens when something is changed.

•Fixed Units Tasks
Changing duration will adjust work, units are fixed.
Changing Work will adjust duration, units are fixed.
Changing units will adjust duration, work is fixed.
•Fixed Work Tasks
Changing duration will adjust units, work is fixed.
Changing units will adjust duration, work is fixed.
Changing work will adjust duration, units are fixed
•Fixed Duration Tasks
Changing units will adjust work, duration is fixed
Changing work will adjust units, duration is fixed
Changing duration will adjust work, units are fixed

yes, in the end it is not a problem. To me it's just important that costs ar
correctly managed by the software.
