Fixed Units and Effort Driven

Hi,

Can someone confirm for me if there is any difference between having the
Effort Driven field set to ON or OFF when we have FIXED Units as the task
type. I can't seem to find any difference.

Yes, there is a definite difference on Effort Driven behavior when Fixed
Units is the Task Type. With the Effort Driven option selected on a task,
the task is designated as an Effort Driven task, and this governs the
behavior of the software when you do one of the following:

-- Add a resource on a task to which one or more resources are already
assigned (shortens the Duration of the task proportionately)
-- Remove a resource on a task to which two or more resources are already
assigns (lengthens the Duration of the task proportionately)

When you deselect the Effort Driven option, the software increases the Work
(when adding helpers) or decreases the Work (when removing resources) on the
task. Hope this helps.

I probably did not have my coffee when I was checking this, so I must have
been sleeping at the wheel. Of course, you are right as ususal.

Thanks,
Spiro.
