Fixing image (picture) in web page

I have a web page with a lot of writing and a few pictures. I'f like teh
pictures to always remain attached to the left side so visible in whatever
size window is used. However, I'm trying to avoid the "single line of text"
between the pictures that sometimes happens when someone opens the window a
little differently. When I tried to put one picture directly under the other,
they still end up getting moved with different window sizes. I know in word
perfect I could somehow fix the location. Any suggestions on how to do this.

Yes, and in Autocad you make some pretty nifty architectural drawings.
