I had been using Entourage 2004 and had been flagging emails that I wanted to refer back to as a quick way to find them. Now I am using Entourage 2008 and all of these showed up in my TO DO list. This makes the TO DO list very long. How do I get rid of these and how do I now flag an email message that I want to save in 2008 without making it a to do item?

Have you considered using a Category?

I don't think that making it a Category would remove them from the To Do list.

I don't think that making it a Category would remove them from the To Do
list.

What Adam probably meant was using categories instead of to do flags. If you
assign these messages a specific category that you have create only for that
purpose, you should be able to locate them very easily using a Smart Search.

Okay I will try this. Now how do I get them out of the To do list or how can I move them from the To do list to a category once I create that category?

Hi.

Simply open the To Do list, select all your items (for non-contiguous
selection, hold down the Command key, then click the various items) and
click on the Categories button in the toolbar to assign them the new
category. Once you've done that, click on the Flag button in the toolbar and
hold down the left mouse key; from the dropdown menu that shows up, choose
"Clear To Do Flag".
