Flash Objects appearing upside down & backwards - not playing either

I've created a powerpoint presentation using Powerpoint
2000 and everything works fine - I have three flash movies
on three different slides in the presentation with scripts
that make sure they rewind to their starting frames when
that particular slide is loaded.

The problem is that, while most computers view the pps
fine, at least computer so far cannot view the flash
movies. The flash movies' first frames appear upside down
and backwards and the movies don't play (stuck on frame
one). We've installed the latest Macromedia Flash
player/activexcontrols and are using Internet Explorer.
The system uses Windows 2000 with powerpoint 95 and
the '97 powerpoint viewer.

This has happened to other individuals I know IRL and they
have not been able to solve it. Apparently this has
happened no matter what version PP the comp uses. Any MS
gurus out there know how to solve this?

I don't think that I've ever heard of it happening to a Flash object, but
there's a chance you've been hit by a strangeness that happens when a
presentation created in an older version is read in PowerPoint 2002. See
the following solution:
