Flashing bar at top of screen

Using WORD, when I try to go to page setup to change from
portrait to landscape, the screen flashes at the very top
where the logo and words Microsoft Word are. The program
is frozen and I have to use CTRL ALT DEL to close.

It could be due to running the Norton AntiVirus Office Plugin. Disable it
