fldpub.ecf error

After upgrading to MS Office 2003 I'm getting an error
when outlook opens for the first time:
c:\program files\microsoft
office\office\addins\fldpub.ecf error in syntax or format
of file. Any suggestions on how to fix this error?

Hi, Kandice,

I think that file is related to Net Folders, which Outlook 2003 doesn't use.

Try moving it out of that folder to a backup location.

What version did you upgrade from?

I am upgrading our entire company from Office 2000 to
Office 2003 using Group Policy. I've begun deploying to
a few people and they have all popped up with this error
message. Is there any way I can stop it from happening
before I rollout to everybody? Thanks for your help.

No, I don't know why the upgrade doesn't recognize that you don't need that
any longer. What I'd suggest is that you post this query also to one of the
Outlook newsgroups, where you'll find more folks up to speed on Outlook
feature issues.

I'll also follow up with a bit of research.
