flowcharts & connectors

I am trying to use a flowchart and a couple things keep
happening:
1) when I try to add a connector, they are ghosted out and
I cannot use them
2) whenever I try to add a flowchart cell, a window opens
up with the message "draw your artwok here" or something
like that.

Any ideas????

In order to use connectors in Word 2002, you must enable the drawing canvas
(General tab of Tools | Options).

Hi Suzanne,

You can also use Insert=>Picture=>New Drawing
to open a drawing canvas rather than change
the Option Settings.
