Folder syncronization

How do I syncronize two different folders with the same name? I have one in
My Documents and the other saved on my Desktop. When I open the one in My
Documents and save a file to it, it does not put that file in the folder that
is saved on my desktop.

You don't. Simply replace the "folder on the desktop" with a shortcut to
the folder in "My Documents". End of problem.
