Folders close Automatically

When I try to open a file in a 3 or 4 folder tree the Open
window takes a long time to activate and I must wait for
the file to either open or shut down the program. If I go
to the 5 folder it is worse.

Thanks,
Jake

Any idea what versions of Office and OS you are using? Is this all on your
local drive? Are you using Norton Anti Virus? Are there any FTP sites saved
in the Folder?

First check is to open NAV and disable the Office Plug-in option and test
again.

Terry,
I still happens after disable Plug-ins. Also when we get 3
or 4 deep in the folders the loading of the details or
Icons slows down to a crawl.

Thanks,
Jack

Try starting Word in safe mode: go to Start, Run and type in

winword /a

and press enter. Test Word in this mode and see if it is still slow. Let us
know the results.

Terry,
In safe mode it is still slow when drilling down 3 or 4
levels of folders.

Are you sure that there are no FTP links saved in any of the folders? Have
you ever had NAV installed on the computer?
