Folders out of order

J

JBrian

Have a user of Outlook 2007 with a number of folders created at the root
level of Personal Folders. They no long fall into alphabetical order - they
begin at mid-C and run alpha to "Z", begin again at "A" and run to mid-Cs.

Any thoughts on why this may happen?

Hi,

By default, the folders under the Personal Folders are sorted in the alphabetical order in Outlook 2007. Please double check if there is
any character in the front of the sub-folder name (such as space, dot, or others).

Perform the steps below to see if it works.
======================
1. Add "a" in the front of a subfolder.
2. Add "b" in the front of another subfolder.
3. Add "c" in the front of another subfolder.
4. Add "d" in the front of another subfolder.
5. Are these 4 subfolders sorted correctly?

Check the issue under cleanview mode:
============
1. Exit Outlook.
2. Click Start > Run > type outlook /cleanviews, click OK.
3. Is the folder shown in order?

If it doesn't work, please take a screen shot of the folder list which begin at mid-C and run alpha to "Z", begin again at "A" and run to
mid-Cs.

How to take a screen shot, please follow the steps below:
------------------------------------------------------------------
a. When screen shows up, press the Print Screen key (right of F12 key) Note: nothing will happen.
b. Open MS Paint program (click Start menu > All Programs > Accessories > Paint).
c. Click Edit (menu) -> Paste or press Ctrl + V.
d. Click File (menu) -> Save. Save it as a *.jpg file and send it to me as an attachment.

If anything is unclear or if you have any other concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Regards,

Emily Lin
