FonrtPage no longer prompts for Username/Password

Chull13

As of about 2 weeks ago FonrtPage no longer prompts for Username/
Password for my remote Website and thus I am unable to edit myWebpage.
Ocassionaly when I try to open the Web from my Network Places it will
tell me
Yes - it is a Very Old version of FrontPage 2002, but it does all I
need it to do.
Any thoughts on how to get this working again?
I'm have trouble with FTPing the files back and forth as I am using a
Shared Border but that info doesn't seem to transfer!
Thansk!

Have your host run a repair and health check of the FP SE
- your use of FTP has corrupted the FP SE

Thanks for getting back!
Well - this started happeneing before I tried using FTP: But yes, I
had FP run its Repair utillity with no improvement - I ran this from
'Help' 'Detect and Repair' is that what you are refering to? I reran
it again just now letting it takeing everything back to the default
settings - still with no improvement. But this is all on my end - I
take it when you say host I need to get GoDaddy to run a repair,
Yes...?

Thanks!!

Ask your Host (GoDaddy) to repair the FrontPage extensions on the server,
and to run a server health check. This has nothing to do with your PC or
your of FrontPage.

They're not doing sales for "us guys" since this is a peer-to-peer
newsgroup, and we don't have anything to do with sales.

I will say this, based upon user comments over the years in this newsgroup,
GoDaddy is about the worst host you could use for FP. They reek of
incompetence.

No - not this NG doing sales for you guy GoDaddy seems to be - but
just a Joke. It actually was more of "Its not our problem, its a
(client based) FrontPage problem! Thus buy the newest verion" (c:

Lovely about GoDaddy - I inheritted this website: Of course, it being
a Snowmobile Website, once GoDaddy bounced those, ah ummmm, Female
Bouceing things what other Host would you expect to be choosen?!?

Ok - just to shake things up a bit:
I had GoDaddy remove and the reinstall the FrontPage Extensions -
this did not reslove the problem.
So, I accessed my Site with FrontPage on another computer - not
mine - that had FP 2003 installed and, Lo and Behold, up comes the
Username/Password dialog and I was able to edit the Site!
This suggest to me that it is something with my FrontPage on my
home computer.
If there is no easy answer as to how to get my home install to
start prompting for User/Name password it might just be time to buy
WebExpressions - oh well! (At least I am 'Officially' a Teacher and
can get the somewhat more reasonably priced Academic Edition.)

Thanks!

On your PC delete the network place link to your site
- and all FP web cache files
Open the Site in FP Using
File Open Site in FP
Or In IE go to your home page online and use File Edit w/ FP

Thanks for the suggestions!
Well - that got me a step closer: Now it tells me that the web can't
be open as it might be Password Protected!
At least it acknowledges that I should be using a Username/Password!!
