Font and color of numbers in Numberind List are different to default font

When I use the Numbered List style on text in a message, although the text
retains the default font size and color, the numbers appear in what I think
is Times New Roman and always in black. My default font for new messages is
Arial 10pt black and for replying/forwarding it's Arial 10pt blue.

Is there a way of forcing the numbers to match the default font?
