Font coloring function

I'm looking for a way to change the font color of a number.

something like this;

=IF(A1<=0,"font color RED",A1) but I know that's not how
you do it, can anyone help?

One way is via custom formatting. Select the cell, press
Ctrl+1, Number Tab, click Custom, and key in:

General;[Red]-General;0;@
