Font goes back to Times whenever changed

I am using Word 10.1.5 on X 10.1.5.
Whenever I change the font it automatically goes back to Times
Why?

Hi Kyle,

Do you mean that the next time you open a new document, the font reverts to
Times? If so, that's because you haven't changed the default setting. Go
to Format> Font and make the change you want. Then click the Default button
at the bottom left of the dialog box.

Beth is almost certainly correct.

However, if it is not that you may be attempting to change to a Unicode
font. Word won't allow that. It's a limitation of Word X: it doesn't
support Unicode properly.
