Font question

Could someone please give me the definitive lowdown on setting small size
fonts?

From what I see in the toolbar and formatting palette, the lowest number on
the drop down menu is 9.

For some reason, I remember entering manually lower numbers and have that
work, but that does not seem to work right now.

What about smaller fonts : 8,7,6 ,5 etc. Why are they not offered on drop
down menu?

Thanks!!!!

I'm not sure why they are not listed in the drop down, but you can simply
type over the size to make it any size you want, from 1 to about 200 points.

Thanks Bob!
I've just been testing this. The font dropdown only goes down to 10. When I
put in another number, like 5 or 6, the second I click out of there and back
into workbook, it reverts back to 10.

Now I'm new to Excel, so I don't know what it's supposed to do or not.

Enter the size you want and press return.

Yes Bob that works. Only thing, is that as soon as you click back in
workbook, font number goes back to 10. Which is ok, but, is there any way
to change to new font, like 5,6,7 and have it stick at that? Thanks!

You could change the style, and then assign a style to the cells.
