Font size within entourage interface

Hello,

The font rendering in the Entourage interface is not ideal so I have been
working through some options to make the interface more readable - is there
a way to set the font size in the preferences to something other than the
sizes shown in the drop down? For example, for "list items" I can choose 9,
10, 12, 14, 16 but not 11 (which is the ideal size).

Is there a preferences file somewhere that contains this value that I can
change?

Regards,

Mick.

No, I don't think so. But the Font pref also offers you hundreds of fonts to
choose from. Fonts all differ in actual pixel sizes even where the point
size is the same: e.g. Verdana 10 is a completely different size form Times
10 and Verdana 12 is completely different size from Times 12. Surely among
the hundreds of fonts you can find one (and I'd guess lots) which is both
the size you'd like and tolerable to view in lists?

Paul,

Thanks - yes I am sure I can find one eventually, although you probably
agree with me that that is not as good as simply offering all point sizes in
the drop down. It's not only the *size* of the font but also the additional
attributes such as line-spacing and character-spacing which change subtlety
between a point size.

Thanks again for the quick response. I'm sure there is some hacky way of
doing this, even if it's something as odd as duplicating a font with every
attribute the same except that the reported size 12 is actually size 11:
Verdana 11pt looks better than Helvetica 12pt (which is what I have settled
for).

It does seem odd that Entourage doesn't call the "Font panel" that
other Mac apps use. Also, I can specify custom font sizes in other MS
apps.

Still. What would REALLY improve things around here, would be a
mail.app skin for Entourage. I'm not liking the "dog's breakfast"
appearance of Entourage. Now that we have a viable Exchange client,
let's hope the next version pays some attention to the UI.

Paul... do you have any "skinning" tips?

All the best,

Paul
