Check that you have a Windows default printer and that it is selected.

I did check and I do have a default printer...I still have bold, bold italic
and italic but the one that says "regular" is gone...under the toolbar the
under format then under fonts...

Selectively, yes. Usually, you can use "Change" in Add/Remove Programs to
specifically install/reinstall given components. Alternatively, you may be
able to browse the media and find the specific font file to reinstall.
