Am I correct in saying that no matter what font I set my set at the users
browser will chsnge to the default font unless I would use css?

The user must have the font installed on their pc, to see your text in the font you have chosen.
This has nothing do with using CSS.

whatever you set the font to should display on the users machine providing they
have that font.
you don't necessarily have to use css; but that is the "modern" way of setting
the look and feel of a site these days rather than using <font face= size= >
etc. for every line or paragraph.

I am working on my web and started with Arial black font and when I preview
IE changes the font to Times New when it has the Arial font available, why?

And can I use css with my dwt or am I sol like the NHL?

You have to specific alternative fonts to use if your primary font is not available. Yes, you can
use CSS to specific font in a external style sheet.

I am a beginner with Webpage design and FrontPage, and I am wondering what
the acronyms mean

css I have figured this to be Cascading Style Sheets. In fact I have
used (a small) one myself.
dwt Is this Dynamic Web Template? If so, what does this mean ? And
what does it do?
Does someone have an example I can look at? (I haven't used
templates at all so far)
sol In my vocabulary, this could mean Sh**ty On (the) Liver, i.e. in
a bad mood
If so, do you mean out of luck?
NHL Now I am stumped

I guess I will learn FP acronyms as time goes by :))

sol = out of luck ( kind of like Brett Favre and the Packers )
nhl = National Hockey league

dwt is like an include page on steroids.

Thanks, Steve

It's good to maintain a sense of humour. I like the "include on steroids"
and I look forward to finding out more. Of course a reason I didn't
understand NHL can be seen from my Email address which ends in com.au

We Aussies are not mad hockey fans. We have a world class hockey team, but
this is in the sport that Americans would call field hockey, whereas what
Americans call hockey we would call ice hockey.

But then, some wit (was it Oscar Wilde? - not sure) said that America and
England are two countries separated by a common language. The same probably
applies to America and Australia.

:)

Completely OffTopic, where can one get any smiley icons or gifs to attach to
Emails?
