Footer and header

I am working on an instruction and I am having problems with the footer I
cannot get the pages to number in sequence when I tryed to delete the footer
and do it manually I am still having problems the numer sequence.

Try this: select and copy the whole document (Ctrl+A, then Ctrl+C). Open a
new document and paste (Ctrl+V) and save the document. Then, recreate the
header or footer in which you want the page numbers. There are two ways to
enter page numbers:

1. From the header and footer menu

2. From the Insert menu.

If you use both of them, you will have trouble.
